FOOTBALL SHIRT COLLECTIVE

I love football shirts. The chances are, you love football shirts too. Well,   Football Shirt Collective   is packed with so much dizzying nostalgia it could make me weep, telling us all about shirts from years gone by and inciting all kinds of wonderful memories. Damn, I miss the ‘90s.  You could honestly lose yourself for hours just scrolling through the pictures of retro kits, with From 12 Yards providing plenty of awesome artwork to polish it all off. There’s even a few bits on new releases, concepts and legendary players, but it’s the flashback stuff which really hits all the right buttons for me. Man, I need to get a Batistuta shirt.

THESE FOOTBALL TIMES

I still remember the first time I came across   These Football Times . I was on a packed tram on the way home from work, and became so enraptured by a piece about Mark Viduka (I’m not even a Leeds fan) that I managed to miss my stop and had to wait ages for another. Of course, this just gave me more time to carry on reading.  From their excellent online series to their unbelievable print magazines, TFT has become the Netflix of football writing. It might not involve a subscription, but this is binge-worthy content which focuses on the most interesting, unique stories in football, brought to you by a talented team of writers who quite clearly just love telling them.

DOCTOR STRANGE IN THE MULTIVERSE OF MADNESS

A shade more than six months ago in this review space, Eternals was presented as the “most mystical, talkative, and far-fetched the Marvel Cinematic Universe has endeavored to date.” Its lurid pageantry and excessiveness was going to require folks to need “an atlas and a social studies tutor to get the ancient history and a stenographer to write it all down.” Just when you thought that movie was its own jump over an ocean of proverbial sharks from the blueprint of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, here comes Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness to levitate all the gigantic leaps even higher.  Put the atlas away and send the stenographer on vacation. For this one, you’re going to need a Ouija board, a witch doctor, a semester’s worth of Disney+ homework, and either a giant Ambien or the PASIV machine from Inception to join the dream party. OG Spider-Man trilogy director Sam Raimi stuffs this movie with all of his signature garish monstrosity that can fit under a PG-13 ...

The New Ferrari Roma

Looking into 2020 we have many new supercars but one that stands out is the Ferrari Roma starting at $225,000. This incredible Italian model is a beautiful design. Hailing from the Maranello headquarters it was named after the country’s capital city. Of course, Rome’s grandeur is directly shown here with this supercar. The style they are looking toward is the feeling of timelessness and the influences can be seen from multiple designers. This incredible all-new model will bring Ferrari’s portfolio forward into 2020.  Now the performance of the car is unbelievable. Under the hood, we have a turbocharged 2.8 liter V-8 that makes 611 horsepower and 561 lb-ft of torque. It links with an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. This supercar can go to 60mph in 3.3 seconds! At the top end, it just about hits 200mph before it tops out. With 20-inch wheels and new groundbreaking drive modes, this looks like Ferrari’s best GT model yet.

The Matrix Resurrections

In 2021, the most famous sci-fi franchise of them all will be returning for a fourth round. Yep,   Keanu Reeves, Carrie-Anne Moss and more will be back alongside director Lana Wachowski for a fourth film in the legendary  Matrix  series . In a statement announcing the new film Warner Bros. Picture Group chairman Toby Emmerich said: “We could not be more excited to be re-entering ‘The Matrix’ with Lana. Lana is a true visionary – a singular and original creative filmmaker – and we are thrilled that she is writing, directing and producing this new chapter in ‘The Matrix’ universe.” So, strap in and get ready to enter the Matrix once again – from cast members to a release date, plot, trailers and more, here’s everything we know so far about  The Matrix Resurrections .

THE BATMAN (2022)

Batman, the Cape Crusader, the Dark Knight, the Bat of Gotham….and so on and so forth. The character of the Batman has always been a fix point of fascination, finding the dual life of DC comic book creation Bruce Wayne, a wealthy philanthropist whose was orphaned at a young age drove him to become a crime fighting vigilante with a Bat-like costume appearance, to be one of compelling as an intriguing superhero and a mysterious character study. Batman has lived on for more than 83 years (at the time of this review), with the character undergoing transformation, alternative nuances, and fighting a great host of villainous antagonist from low-life thugs to powerful movers and shakers…some of which becoming more iconic and infamous than Batman himself. Still, through all of that, the character still remains fundamentally the same and quickly became a popular character in the DC universe among side the ranks of Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, and several others. Given the allure and i...

10 years of KTM

Ten years? Ten years! God, I feel old… I remember the excitement like it was yesterday. It was early 2012 and I was a junior journalist at Overdrive. Of course, I didn’t get to be the first person to ride the new KTM 200 Duke at the office, but just like everyone else, I was listening wide-eyed and awestruck as bike-editor, Shumi, described the KTM with words like “hyperactive”, “thrilling”, and “nothing like it!”  Shumi promptly went and bought one of the first 200 Dukes, and this was the first KTM I ever rode. Oh god, what a little ball of energy the bike was Today, there’s a big range of KTMs available, and while most of them are more mellow than the excitingly violent originals (and far more expensive) – they’re still the go-to option for the performance enthusiast on a budget. Moreover, we now have the Adventure range, and while I’m not a fan of what KTM has done with the bike, there’s no doubt that it (and all the brand activity around it) will do wonders for the adven...
